Hey Friends -
Need one of these bad boys that holds the clock. Not my picture. Porsche part 928 552 047 05. Holds round VDO clock. 928 Intl is out, as are a few others, so I figured I'd check if anyone else has one.

Hi Royal,
You probably already tried Roger at 928sRUs. If not, I recommend that you check there first. I also see it on Auto Atlanta's web site, but you will have to check to see if they have it in stock.

Does it have the "Do It Yourself" manual transmission, or the superior "Fully Equipped by Porsche" Automatic Transmission?

I believe I have one. Let me check tomorrow am and I will Pm you. I also should have the back mounting plate and the clock. Was thinking of doing a s4 to OB conversion to get the round clock in place. But did not like the look after all. I forget what I paid for the Bezel. will have to look back in my records.

I think this is the trim piece that I originally set out to replicate with some tooling to form them out of ABS plastic some time ago. I started a thread about that project and that is the one that caught Nilole's attention when she suggested that I should be doing something like the Kieth Widom Flush Console Conversion instead.
What I did, as I recall, was to complete the tooling in my forming machine so that I could make these trim pieces, and then made seperate tooling for the flush conversion trim pieces that are signigicantly different. I don't think I ever made any of the original trim pieces, but I think I could by just bolting the original tooling into the machine.
If there was any significant demand for the original trim pieces I suspect I could make them. However, I also suspect that if the Flush Console Conversion takes on any life there will likely be some of the original trim pieces on the used part market which could likely take up whatever the demand might be.
I also think that my version of this trim piece could be made to work with any form of clock that one might fit in the available space by simply cutting a hole the necessary shape and size. I think that was why I started that project in the first place--to adapt a different analog clock.

rlich8, I think I have 2 here. Mine have only the hole for clock. One has been widened where stereo goes, and rear part fits well. The other (pretty sure) is original for radio opening, but rear is a bit raised.

Joejoe, that is the one I need, as shown in the picture above - single hole, clock only. By 1980 they moved the seatbelt warning and the hazard signal elsewhere.
