Default New 928 owner

I'm a proud new owner of a 81 U.S. spec 3 spd. With 88,000 miles.
I used to work on my dads 80 euro 5spd, so I know my way around the car a little bit.
What would you all suggest to due maintenance wise?
Thanks for the help.
Russell

Welcome and congrats on your new car.

As to maintenance, having a record of what has been done will help us give you ideas on where to start.

Welcome, Russell.

Read thru the New Visitor FAQ thread posted at the top of this forum to get a running start.

Welcome. As was suggested, the "New Visitor" sticky has a lot of good info.

Since you asked, the first thing I would suggest is checking the fuel lines.
Fires caused by leaking fuel lines have been the death of too many 928s.

Intake refresh (replacing all the rubber parts on the top of the motor) is another thing to consider.

Going through the electrics and cleaning the CE panel and grounds is yet another.

First do fuel lines. You don't want a carbeque. next, clean all ground points carefully. After that, read the new member intro above, and also some of the stickies. They will point you in the right direction.

welcome.

For an '81 check to see the lower ball joints are not aluminum, but have been upgraded to steel.

Get someone expert in the 928 to do a full inspection, not a Porsche shop, but someone who knows the 928 well and messes with them all the time.

Welcome to the group.
