How many miles did you add to your clock?
#32
About 700 miles on my 82 5 speed. But that is between a gear box and engine rebuild, interior gutting, custom stereo, new steering, new clutch, AC work, electrical refresh, etc, etc, etc….

since the odometer in the old very brown 1980 has never worked in all the years I have had it....zero added miles but it reads 800,000 or something silly like that. But it did get some track miles recently

'Depreciation' is a relative term when you get to the mileage range of some of these cars. I got mine with a shade over 200k miles on it, I'm at 242k miles after 8 years. When I got it the car wasn't 'used' it was in most people's estimations 'used up'.
It's on borrowed time and in my opinion 'depreciation' stopped at about 150k miles and 18-20 years or so. From then on it's been pretty much flat.
When it finally gives up the ghost it's not going to owe me or anyone else a dime.

I have put about 17,000 miles on my S4 this year. 52,000 miles since the complete engine rebuild that was done in September of 2010. The car itself has 147,000 miles on it and lots of stuff are starting to wear out. Has been pretty reliable since I got it running in 2010. The new Laso pump (extra bushing impeller) failed at 20,000 miles, so I had to redo the timing belt job. And at around 123,000 miles the LH computer failed. And some issue with the injector wiring harness after the LH rebuilt. The car never had to seat due to these incidents since I had to repair them immediately.

Good post! I just added up how much I drove this year even with the down time refreshing the intake trying to get smogged etc. Just reviewed my Chevron receipts,
8400 miles! Most of this is from the Bay Area to LA, either Hwy 5 or 101 or sometimes even Hwy 1. Depreciation is something I never consider, I just enjoy driving it and when something goes amiss, I'll fix it. My car is old and so am I, what the hell!
Just put all new LED's in the cluster and drove it to Healdsburg on Sunday to visit
Bear Republic Brewing Company ( Racer 5).
My car runs a whole lot better if I drive it and often. I don't do in town errands often, mostly over
50 miles at stint.
I would not hesitate to drive it across country

I voted 'other' as the odometer is still on my to do list. (See avatar: 0 miles...)
But I do use her. (See avatar 255km/h)
Several thousands of miles it must have been for sure.
2014 is the year for a Le Mans Classic 24h again, so I will definitely take her there.

Was not sure if you meant per year or total. I have put 65K in the last 27 months on my Daily Driver, about 6K on the Cab and just about 900 on the 5-speed ... but that is going up now that is my Wife's daily driver.... I love these cars and I love to drive... that does not include the miles on others....

Bolts should arrive today or tomorrow. Since I will S/C this and they had to come from Germany anyway, I decided to get a whole new set. Colour matched Wires and hoses should also arrive today or tomorrow. Once the bolts are in, I will give you a buzz.
