If they say "made in Germany" they are good. If they say anything else they are bad.
The wording is the only way to tell. There is a good thread on the subject here somewhere.
Bad ones made by Meyle Germany. Except they were made in China.

The hose is cheap at ---
78 to 84 $4.05
85 to 95 $11.00

We get our heater valves from Mercedes excellent quality "made in Germany" and $22.75

I'm at a loss, the hoses are the same diameters. this is an 87 s4. The metal elbow on the head is also 19 mm, in the picture i show the heater valve at 19 mm, the hose i used ID is 19mm (even labeled).

Anybody know what to do?

I pulled both hoses ----
928 574 567 02 Block to Heater Valve 78 to 84 - one end measures 17mm ID and the other 15mm ID
928 574 567 03 Block to Heater valve 85 to 95 - straight hose section with an ID of 19mm

Only the early hose is a molded hose.
