When I shipped my Range Rover from Akin SC to OKC the going rate was about $1000. I contacted several shippers and told them it would cost me $700 to fly out and drive it back myself and if they could beat that I would use them. One of them told me car shipping companies were ALL just brokers and use a shipping job posting thing just like UShip and the difference was their guarantee and insurance if something goes wrong. One said if I had a couple of weeks he could get it shipped for under $500, the trick was to catch someone going the same way that just needed to fill some space. Ended up only costing $450 which included the brokers fee of $125.
