Default Chain Tensioner Washer

I was putting my chain tensioner in, and found that I didn't have the washer - #16 in PET (N 011 524 7) - in my bag of tensioner parts. I'm pretty **** when its comes to part labeling, so it would be rare for me to misplace something like that. Is it possible there wasn't a washer there in the first place? If I need one, how do you read the A 6,4 label PET shows to find a correct substitute (the ones I ordered from Porsche were too large)

Thanks - Dave

recheck the bag, the tensioner and cylinder head then go fishing with magnets.......the washer was probably dropped when taken apart......easy to do, ask me how I know

100% sure it's not hiding in its recess on the chain tensioner body?

Ducman, I measured, and that seems to be about right - Thanks for sharing how to read the sizing.

Malcolm, I should have mentioned, that I had taken the engine apart, stopping at the crank. Its possible they were lost in the past, but thankfully there is practically no chance they're lost in the engine now.

Rob, checked, but no dice. That would have been too easy.

They were probably removed in the past, and just not put back in, and I'd bet its the same person that lost the rubber washer I found down one of the oil channel some time back. Anyway I've re-ordered the washers. Thanks all for confirming that they should be there.

Dave
