Drivers side headlight works on bright but not on dim. No problem just put in new bulb, right? Well no luck still does not work. What is the next step? 87S4
Help please
David
Check the fuse again with a voltmeter this time - when the low beams are on do you get 12+v on the dimple in the fuse end at the bottom (you can probe the metal blade while the fuse is in).
If you have 12+v here then the HL relay is good and its a wiring issue.
Your relay could be bad or your backing to your headlight could have corroded. That happened to me with a H4 headlight.
I'm sure the H5's must have a similar backing. Also check to see if one of your wires broke inside of the fender where the wiring has to bend for the popups.
Test the big relay by hand. Take the cap of, turn on the lights and see if the relay switch works. If not, push it by hand and see if lights come on.
If toast, lay down 100+ bucks and be happy. :-)
Thanks guys, it was the dipped beam fuse. I did not know there were 4 fuses are what a dipped beam was. It amazes me how ignorant I am after all the work I have done on these cars.
Tanks again

The more I learn about my car, the more I realize how much I don't know. That's true about more in life than just this car, but it really applies here.
The thing that really amazes me is the depth and breadth of knowledge that some of these folks have. And their willingness to share it as freely as they do.
