Default Where to buy Harmonic Balancer

Ones anybody have any links or places or suggestions on where I can buy a harmonic balancer for a 1984 928S with the 16V 4.7L engine?? I've been searching for awhile now and just cannot find one...

If it ain't broke, I'll fix it 'til it is

Ati makes a nice one, a little pricey maybe.

Stock I suspect it makes little difference, but harmonic balancer is a rubber torsional shock absorber, it must lose effectiveness at some point.

It is stock, but the two parts separated, and now the damper part spins freely, making it impossible to time the engine now that I have it torn down to rebuild. Do you have a link to the ati one? I can't find it..

You wont find it, it is a custom order, the only custom part is the hub. I will be making hubs (10) for this application in 7075 aluminium in the new year probably April, I suppose you can't wait that long.

An ATI with the appropriate hub is going to be at least an $800 proposition. 928 Motorsports sells one here:

Vs. a good used one from 928Intl for $150:

Thank you everybody, I guess I'll be going with the 928 international one. I don't suppose anybody is interested in an automatic trans. 928 with a trashed interior, perfect body with poorly done respray, and newly rebuilt engine for around $4500 eh? Damn..

I second the 928 Inter'l suggestion. Just for the sake of information, as I have not bought from these others, there is Pelican Parts, Parts Heaven, 928 Motorsports, 928srus and LAautoparts (http://www.ebay.com/itm/291021996118...84.m1438.l2649).

YMMV

Paint is the most valuable, most costly item to replace on a 928 to factory standards. Bad paint to me means parts car or track project, too expensive to get the paint right compared to buying a car with nice factory paint.
