I also had a 79. To do it over again I would do a 68-74, those were the best years IMO. Full synchro boxes and bulletproof rear ends, and no emissions.

If you decide to go the reupholstery route, go with either Rob or Paul.
If you decide on Rob, get your car to him-he's relatively close to you. For Paul, consider pulling all the items and crating them and send to him.
Between the 2 of them, you'll get a great job done. Alternatively, check with the local shops and see if they'll work with Rob or Paul's pieces to install.
Finally, you may want to consider ColorGlo who can do minor repairs and cleanup.
A color like black can be made to look very, very good.
