Default Seat Compatability with 911, 944 etc.

On Thurs some if us Minn. 928 folks were having dinner and looking at the 4 Sharks (and 10 Vipers) in the parking lot when one of us noted that his car had 911 seats in it from the factory (Mike's, it also has a '57 356 paint color! It was a special Design Study)

Since my 21 yr old seats are shot, I'd like to know what the options are for seats from other Porsche models that would fit a 928 - Ruf

Good Q! The leather in mine has been so neglected by the PO that I sat in the passenger side seat this weekend which promptly tore. As the dricer's side is shot as well, finding replacements is on the list of things to do.

I believe you can use 911/944 seats. I can't tell you exact years, if all years, will/won't work.

I have used a set of recaro sport seats out of a mid-eighty's 911 before. Fit like a glove!

I have an extra set of seats (early style 6 way), recently recovered in black "lear jet" leather. Very durable and SOFT. They are for sale.

Good luck!

I don't have pics at this point. They are located at my parent's house in dry storage. I will get pics next time I visit, and will bring the seats back.

I'm asking $700 plus shipping/packaging (estimated $100 because of custom packaging to ship within UPS girth req'mnts) Have shipped seats before.

They are not perfect, but very good. I will inspect them more closely when I see them. I will also wire them up to my car to verify 6way function.

Jim, what did it cost you to have them recovered?

Cobey,
I'm not sure because the PO recovered them. They came with the car which has been parted out (lots of parts). It was an 80 EuroS, 5sp.

They seats in my 84 S2 are soft but these are exceptionally soft because they have been restuffed/padded, and the lear jet leather is softer than the german leather. I'm not sure if is is synthetic or not, I guess it is.
