Some of the drivetrain upgrade threads of recent days brought up this discussion recently.

It's only .625 in diameter and supports the spider gears transmitting the torque from the carrier to the spider gears.

Just wondering if anyone has ever busted up one of these.

If not him, then who, as I know that I have seen only 1 failure of that shaft posted here on RL.

What is .625, the spider gear pin?
I have replaced many in half tons and performance cars but haven't even opened my case.

I could swear I remember Carl posting a pic of a pile of spider gear bits, maybe Road America, 2010 or 2011, but I can't find it. Carl?
