Very interesting - I wonder what the VIN is? To my knowledge, there are only four Velvet Red Metallic GTs in North America, two 89s and two 90s.

I obviously have one of the 90s. I thought the other 90 had linen/burgundy interior, so this one with black interior may be a newly discovered Velvet Red GT. That, or the Registry could be wrong.

The car itself looks like it has a lot of potential, and the price grants opportunity to restore it to glory without breaking the bank.

Your new avatar gave me a good laugh. It also reminds me I have a new over/under I bought 8 years ago that I still haven't fired.

Glad I can help. I scored a 90GT for 5K. Previous owner bought it along with a jacked up truck at an auction. Didn't like the car....Sucker.
I replaced a wheel speed sensor, fixed a couple odds n ends then drove it for a couple hundred miles before checking the previous shops timing belt replacement job. Good thing I did.
These cars are fast!

Hood is way out of allignment and passenger side front rub strip off. Clear coat may be failing, hard to tell in photos. Must be more to the story, but i still want it.
