To the other question in the OP... if you have a solidly mounted HD eye bolt in the floor (or some other attachment installed when the slab went down), you can use a chain winch to pull it down to spec. The factory/dealer procedure defines this - and it's what I have observed dealers doing - saves them time.

I guess it's not really a huge problem, and I now understand that the bushings in the lower arms are loaded and this contributes to this (more than I knew earlier this week...and that's an improvement in itself) I do like hearing about stuff that most of us never heard of. It just adds to the general base of useful info. - Ruf
If it is taking days to settle, drive more than 10 minutes when you put it back on the ground.

Its no big deal...you DONT want to "fix" this.

This is part of how your suspension works.

Dont jack it to adjust ride height. Rear is pretty easy to reach. Front - put wheels on full lock right, reach in front of right wheel , push spanner to raise, pull to lower; reach in behind left wheel, push to raise, pull to lower. This should only need a brief drive to settle, or even just some backing and filling, running the steering from lock to lock. If you had the fronts on alignment pads they would probably allow everything to settle naturally.

Mechanic at local Porsche dealer does both the pull down AND settle drive when he does alignment after lifting the car.

The stock setup makes it easier to get one onto a flatbed.

Hijacking this a little..

upon getting ym car back after paint, and seeing all the blanket of white garbage outside, i won't be able to drive my car, was thinking of getting the tires off the ground a couple inches for it's hibernation..

Because of all this talk about binding, etc, does doing this for 4 months with a 928 somehow hurt anything? should i leave it on the ground with some wood under the tires??

Please forgive me my ignorance, once the riding height has settled and alignment done, does it need to be checked every time the car is lifted?
