If you intend to stay in any campgrounds along the way you MUST make reservations as soon as they will accept them. The prime beach areas book up very quickly for that time of year. Many of the cities are anti campers and cops may harass you if you just stop in a parking lot or on a street to spend the night. Should be a great adventure so much too see !

Yes, we experienced that in 2009. We made a trip from LA, Grand Canyon, Monument Valley, Yellowstone, Salt Lake city & Wendover (Speedweek), Las Vegas, Yosimity, San Francisco. We needed to make bookings for all KOA's we needed along the route. Great trip!

Seattle here we come! Tomorow the trip starts from Seattle to Pebble Beach, with some whale watching Duck touring and building Boeing's as a start
