What would you pick, 5 spoke or 10 spoke?

I've got a set of each.

I think the 10 spokes are prettier when they're on the car - until I swap them out for the 5 spokes....

Like them both, but the 10 spokes are prettier (or is it the 5 spokes). 5 spokes are easier to clean.

I've seen the 5's in person and think they look great. I agree the 10's look good in the picture above.

I still say we lobby Jim Doerr to make the Cup II in 18" after he's done with his 18" phone dial project.

J-Rod, I actually prefer the CUP I wheels myself... probably also why I really like the 5 spoke PanAm wheel too!

^^^ This. Of course I think the 18" PD's are going to be pretty sweet!

Well, if he can do Cup II's, Cup I's should be easy. He can do those after that, lol.

I like cup I's as well. I loved my speedlines on the 85, but they went with the car and did not clear the front calipers on the 87 anyway.

My buddies think the 5 spoke looks more period correct on the car. But I'm torn between the 5 spoke and 10 spoke.

If only changing wheels, then moving from 16" to 18" makes the brakes look small, and I think nothing looks more ridiculous on a car than BIG wheels with SMALL rotors.

For no other reason, I would pick the 10 spoke - they mask the "small rotor" effect.

On the other hand, if you are adding bigger brakes to the new wheel package, the five spokes ARE easier to clean ...

One thing I would NOT do is put seven or nine spoke rims on a car with five studs.
I have a dislike of wheels that have the holes for the studs in a different relative place on each spoke.

I've always found "more" to look better with 80's designs rather than "less" in the wheels. While materials and manufacturing dictated the designs then to some extent, the designers did seem to agree with me.
fb RX7 looks best with GSL-SE wheels, all 300Z wheels were fairly full, MR2 triangle wheels are best, and of course I like my manhole covers on the 928. M1 Bimmer wheels, Countach dials, the list goes on...

so, long winded vote for 10.

10 spoke because they are prettier especially on earlier cars and I have them on my 81 .
