Default Tail light

hey guys,

87 auto. While repairing rear side light (copper piece not touching bulb) I touched bulb & copper piece at same time with screwdriver & shorted something out. Now rear tail light & side light is out. Only on drivers side. Looked at fuse chart & didn't see tail light fuses. Where should I look. What do you think?

Change the fuse - fuse #43 (left side) on an '87 [ OR #41 (right side) ]

Do it with at least the lights off next time...

Fuses were fine. Pulled both & replaced, still no tail lights on drivers side

For how long did this inadvertent contact happen? Momentarily, I'm guessing? ANy longer and you might need to look at wiring - especially if the fuse did not blow, but that's pretty unlikely.

I would replace the fuses with known good ones - actually, new fuses would be better, and not ones from Harbor Freight. Get some good fuses. I've seen some fuses that look good but are actually blown.
