Loose wire in rear left wheel well
Our temporary plates just expired so I went to install our rear license plate today and I noticed a wire hanging down from the exhaust. It appears to be sitting in the left rear wheel well and there are both red and black wires dangling loose. Surely this is not a good thing.
I haven't checked if they're live or not, but I'm hesitant to try hooking them up until I know what the wires do.
I'm not sure how to track something like this down in the service manual, so any help would be appreciated.

Black and red sounds like ground and positive. Location is near battery. May be a previous owner's wires for connecting to a battery maintainer? Have a look at the battery itself and see if that's where they end up.

remove the LR block off plate,
you will find a harness with red, black and white wires that run your power antenna .
See what has been done,,
as a stripped wire means ,
aftermarket repairs have been attempted

Thanks guys, power antenna sounds about right. The radio can barely locate a single station in the middle of NYC, so this makes sense.
I'll dig it omit this weekend to see what has been done.

Not on a Porsche ! brown is ground on factory wiring. These are added wires for who knows what reason Hopefully not hot since wires are exposed and do not hook together because many home mechanics do not fuse their hot wires and you can have a full melt down !!!
