Finally finished the TB/WP job...thanks for all the help!
Well after two months of working on my 87, I finally finished the PKensioner and waterpump job. There was a lot of "while I am in there" stuff including waterbridge refresh, oil pump seals, new crank and cam gears. There were also a lot of moments where I was so close to sending the car off a cliff! Broken bolts and hard to reach areas were a huge challenge on this project!
Thanks to everyone who helped with answering my questions or giving encouragement to finish the job!
Every online car group always has "that guy" who seems to know everything, and always has a prompt helpful answer to any question, no matter how simple.
Luckily for 928 owners, THIS website has MANY of "those guys"....you know who you are....thank-you!

Good job. Check to make sure the timing belt is tracking straight through the inspection holes on the cam covers. Don't be alarmed if it's not tracking straight the first time as long as it's not fluctuating as it passes the same spot.
My belt didn't track perfectly straight the first time but it didn't "move", the same positions returned exact as it passed. I chalked it up to just putting the belt on not even all the way. Over time the belt will straighten itself out...at least for mine it did. It still stayed true to the center of the cam, 2-3 mm from the edge of the gears. Just inspected it after 100 or so miles and it's "straighter" that it was when it started. Keep checking periodically through the holes to make sure the belt isn't migrating towards the back or front of either gear. Too close and it'll rub and bad things happen. Too far and bad things happen.
