A/C compressor on all the time?

There is confusion here. Once the AC is selected & running the clutch is not supposed to cycle to control temperature - the only thing that controls temperature in any mode is the heater flap modulation. When active the compressor will only cycle off if the evaporator freezes up - this should be rare unless external temps are low and its humid.

The modes: DEF, Recirculate (if equipped) and AC button on - all activate the compressor.

I was correcting another post that assumed the compressor had a problem being a seized clutch. What I meant to say was I can engage the AC, and I can turn it off, but only at the full Off position. I think it is a slider selector, relay or AC switch issue. I will test the AC switch first. Thanks for the input Alan.

Not sure if same on your car, but on mine tthe AC is engaged when the slider is placed in the 'recirculation' mode.
