Default -84 engine in an -81 car

Hi,
I have a manual Euro 928s -81 with a broken engine so I am replacing it with an -84 engine. Since the new engine has other motor mounts (Volvos in my case) compared to the original, will it still fit the crossmember or do I have to modify/replace it?

Thanks,

Sverker

You can use original mounts that are in with -81 S engine. If you want to use later style mounts (Volvos in your case) easiest way is to change entire submember.

Aha, the old mounts will fit? Someone told me I had to get new ones (which I did..). The old ones were just replaced by the PO so then I'll use them intead. Thanks Vilhuer!

You just use everything below engine block from original setup. They should fit straight into newer engine block including engine shock upper mounts.
