Default Starter motor wiring harness routing

Anyone have a photo of the underside showing the routing of the harnesses to the starter motor? My car is an '89 S4.

Took it off a while ago thinking that 'oh, I'll remember', and advancing age accompanied by memory challenges conspired against me.

The rear wire from the battery is easy. It's the one from the alternator that I'm having trouble with; outside the power steering box? inside the box? There's a clamp...where does that go??

Here's the loop on the back of the alternator and the pigtail to the oil pressure sender:

Couple of undercar views:

EDIT: Since you have a 5-speed, this just shows the stock clutch line, the starter harness lies foreward of it. The harness passes ABOVE the engine crossmember, LATERAL to the diagonal bracket between the crossmember and the rear upper control arm stud.

Rob,
That is too clean. What is the spring on the exhaust in your second picture for?

Keeps the headers from falling off. (Not really, the primary tubes are very snug in the collector- I guess they're there to keep stuff from rattling if one side heats up and loosens (?)

Holds the collector to the header pipe. The headers are installed in sections to allow fitment and access to fasteners.

Outstanding, Rob. Thanks so much.

The headers are serious equipment.

More than drool leaks out when riding with feet next to those headers.

Do they fit right in without any modifications? Looks like something from an F1 car!

Well, they don't exactly self assemble, it's really tight on the driver's side (each primary tube is 1.75" OD) and there's an order of operations for getting each tube up in place, but they they fit the space, don't touch anywhere, and still permit the installation of both belly pans. You will end up using every 13 mm nut-turning device ever created by mankind.

The other solution to fitting big header tubes is to wrap #8 around the steering shaft, but these are 4:2:1's on Anderson's racer and they hang a little lower than would be practical on the street:

Sorry to pop in here after so many years , but I am rebuilding my baby and I also left things to long. Underneath , as in your picture, it appears that there is an earth and a positive cable coming from the rear. Where does the earth go , or is that black thick cable also a power cable ?

in the second picture the cable running along the frame is the HOT wire.

The ground wire is connected to the rear edge of the chassis just behind the tool tray,

open the battery box to examine the connections
