Exclamation Eye opener!

This morning I was going to write about finally going for a schweet drive in my freshly tuned car last evening.

Instead: look what that thump on the freeway home did!

Under drivers seat

This would have done a number on the transmission pan!

I have no idea what it was, I never saw it.

Luckily I was just idling along (~70mph ), so it didn't go any further into the cabin (or me)!

Thats why some race organizations spec out a material thickness on driver/passenger floor boards and trans blankets.

Good thing it hit the the suport, or there is no telling what pitch you voice would be now

Wow! Looks like you kinda lucked out to some extend. I picked up one of those "thumps" with my daily driver on my way to work yesterday. Turned out to be a hunk of metal (piece of a rim by the looks of it) that neatly went right into the air intake on the grill and punch a nice hole in my condensor. My luck that it only took out the condensor and not the radiator behind it. So AC, but still able to drive.

Cool

I hope someone catches whatever did that to your car before it multiplies
and makes more little thumps. I sure don't want any coming around my car.

A couple of weeks ago on e of those "things" in the form of a huge traffic cone attacked my car as I was driving along the freeway in Houston. I changed lanes and there it was lurking in the middle of the lane laying down and I couldn't change lanes or stop, so I hit it. It pushed the front fender back from the bumper cover about 6 " and pushed the spoiler out of shape. Took about 6 hours to push and shove everything back into place.

My sympathy to you.
