Removed my armrest/console to refinish the plastic frame and really clean and treat the leather.
I used Leatherique cleaner with a soft Scotchbrite pad to clean the hide and then used Mother's new Leather Tech to treat it. It's now back to the matte finish rather than the shiny appearance.
But here's what I found under the console. Given the date convention in Europe, it would appear that my car was completed on Aug. 12, 1988? There's what appears to be a signature, too. Anybody else have this on their car? Seems plausible that the last piece put on the car is the armrest...
Wonder if Porsche has records of employees on the assembly line and might they know this signature? Wouldn't it be interesting to know?
I'm going to shoot some clear over it to ensure it is preserved.

More likely for the leather trimming of the console itself. I get the sense that batches trimmed parts were made in advance of need and then stored (i.e. not just-in-time or as the car was assembled).
I found notes about the colour (schwartz) and use of leather (leder) on the back my two leather door cards (on my fully leather trimmed '88) that were clearly made by different individuals. I also found this signature and date on the leather trimmed hatch cover:

The car was completed in August 1987, so this part trimmed by Alexis beforehand.

I didn't find any signatures in mine, but I do see this number popping up in the strangest places which makes me think it was a custom build. The hand written note was on the inside of the seat leather.
