Default Been down awhile and need a swift boot and a point in the right direction.

Due to a long run of injuries starting around 6-7 years ago chasing me into retirement (hernia, broken collar bone, broken back, kidney stones, bone to bone on the knees and, finally a broken neck) I haven't done so much as look at the 928's Pattycakes the 82' Weissach, Snowball -the great white 81, nor my hot rod Suzuki 1100 motor pickles for years.
So I put the bikes in the shop and started work on Pattycakes this past Tuesday.
Long story, after a lot of cosmetic maint., fluid swaps, engine, interior cleanup front and rear brake pad change & fluid flush I connected the new battery and for some reason the fuel pump cycled with the ignition key sitting on the roof ???
Did some fuel tank voodoo and she cranked up on second try. Engine idle was smoothing out when it abruptly quit. From that point the pump would not cycle. I removed the cap from the fuel rail and taped a 1/2 inch by 5 foot aluminum tube from the fuel rail to a 5 gallon fuel can just to assure my self the pump was dead. No cycle, no fuel. Checked the fusing and relay, then jumped the relay just in case ... no joy. So I was going to remove the Pump
- I had a new one on hand from 928 International as a spare- .
This is where old age or something took over.
1. I couldn't find the new pump .
2. Having changed 4 - 5 928 fuel pumps over the years I suddenly could not remember where it was located. Point of fact, I snagged the last one for Pattycakes off of Snowball and was supposed to swap back with the new pump prior to some of my surgeries.
3. I packed the Shop Manuals, CD's and a bunch of parts and tools into Snowball for the trip up to North West PA to our second home , then my wife buried the poor thing behind a wall of furniture, cabinets, etc. when she bought the new stuff for our Texazz home 2 weeks ago.
So, I ordered a warrantied, used fuel pump from 928 Intl this afternoon. And this evening while packing for the trip north I lifted the storage lid to a foyer bench and voila, I found the missing new pump with check valve . Oh well at least now I have one for Snowball, too.
Now if one of you would stop laughing at me long enough to prod my memory as to the location of the pump I'll be one happy camper.
I seem, to recall a drop down cover held in place by a single 8 or 10 mmm bolt
toward the bottom rear of the gas tank...

Isn't underneath the car, by the right rear wheel toward the back end? Should have a cover that bolts off and it's literally right there. Don't even have to lift the car up.

Pretty accurate memory I'ld say all correct but two M6 nuts that take a 10mm spanner.
