Default Drilling cranks...

Does anyone know of anybody still drilling 928 crankshafts "chevy style"? Taylor has passed away and his tech that used to do the work can't seem to be tracked down. I need a batch done.

Thanks in advance...

Dave

I would imagine a compentent local machine shop could do it.....Dennis posted a bunch of pictures-diagrams how it was done years ago... I asked the crank specialist across the street from my race shop about it, they said they could do it..... Stamos Crankshaft in west sacramento

Thanks Brian, I may give them a call. We have had a few places say that they can do it no problem...we just got two cranks back from one place that had them over a year and did nothing.

Andy, when you mentioned Threshie stuff I just ran silently screaming from my computer...

Stamos has worked on my 928 cranks in the past.....cut one .25mm under after rod bearing death and just cleaned up and packaged others.....last one they worked on was a Scat stroker they inspected and packaged for storage until its needed!!!! If there is any ??? about the drilling I can bring the Scat crank back to them and they can copy it

yeah dave the threashie short block had the taylor drilled crank and was bored for the larger pistons for the 6.5 l stroker. I think was meant for as he described a high rpm stroked engine, anyway the block was the donor for the stroker greg built for my car. still have the pistons and crank from the threshie purchase….

was a good deal so no screaming on this end!!!!
