I noticed that the Hemmings 928 article has Stuttgart Northeast listed as a 928 expert.
Anyone have any experience with Stuttgart Northeast?
Thanks,
Tom

I took my old 911SC there to sort the CIS, and felt they were OK. I was surprised to see them listed in Hemmings S&E for the 928, although I think I recall seeing a 928 there once several years ago. I had not heard of them being 928 saavy, other than the listing in the article. They also service Mercedes. IMHO, the guru in the Boston area is Dave Chamberland (worf928 here), although he is not a full time shop, and takes work as his schedule permits.

Don't know anything about Stuttgart Northeast, but I do know David Chamberlain(worf928), and I'd CERTAINLY trust my car to him for most anything short of a high performance stroker build (that would go to Greg Brown!).

The owner is a nice enough guy, and I was happy with the work they did on my 911 - it's just that they are not mentioned when asking locals here about known 928 specialists. That's not to say they don't know their way around a 928 - maybe they do. But I would want some references first (not that I am looking).

I try not to post on the subject of Boston area shops unless I have something good to say. However, upon seeing the scans in the other thread of the HS&E article I have to write that seeing Stuttgart Northeast mentioned in the same breath (or in the same sidebar) as 928 International or 928sRUs is a $#%]ing disgrace.
No, I do not recommend them.
Autobahn in Peabody, however, do seem capable as long as it is Rick - the owner - doing the 928 work. And I have never had to 'fix' anything Rick has touched.
Rennsport no longer work on 928s (so I have been told. Seems that Rene has retired.)
Rumour has it that there is still a good 928 tech at Porsche of Nashua. As far as a I know every other Dealer in the area will turn away 928s.

I am surprised nobody has mentioned these dudes - http://www.autosportengineering.com
I stopped by there once when I had first bought mine 10+ years ago. There were a few 928's among the predominantly 911 filled lot. The owner seemed to have a great admiration for 928's and his son knew of them also. I did not have them do anything and got the impression you would pay thru the nose if you used their services. So for whatever it's worth.
