Phantom, I love it when mouthbreathers lash out. The figures you quote are based on the Japanese manufacturers horsepower agreement. They are incorrect. Try reading sometime. If your anywhere near Texas Ill gladly show my definition of the weakest/lowest horsepower modern v12. Ill even provide the Depends and some wet naps so you can clean up afterwards. Best Regards, Dinsdale Piranha

You know Dins, I had this evil thought of doing ITBs on that 1GZFE. Of course you would have to cut the 928 hood for clearance, but 12 trumpets protruding from the hole would bring on some massive allure to what would be under there.

This is a crazy argument, considering how many 928s are rotting into the ground or laying in junkyards or lurking on CL. There are far more 928s out there than there are people who are willing to do anything with them.

I appreciate that the 928 motor is a unique thing, but really a motor is a motor is a motor; V-8, straight-4, V12, rotary, even electric. They turn a tube and make the wheels go around.

The body and suspension is what makes a car truly unique. The 928 has an iconic shape, I'm happy to see them going down the road with any kind of motive power.

There is no sacrilege unless there are less than 8 cylinders swapped into a 928.

Has this beast been dynoed? Preferably with a video because I'm dying to know what a Toyoto V12 might sound like...

No dyno yet, I did find some dyno results from a merc 190 with a 1gzfe and a t56 trans. thats close enough for me. NA with Headers no VVTI, no ACIS , 294 hp at wheels 493 tq @4660rpm single turbo 6psi no VVTI, no ACIS, 264 hp at wheels 652 tq.@4660rpm My engine is NA tuned 3" mandrel exhaust with VVTI and ACIS rpm limit 6500 for now. Whats your guess based on that info? I think low 3s for hp and low fives tq. Thats just my opinion man. My 86.5 is like a turtle compared to the v12. check out my youtube videos to hear it.

The power curve of that motor is reminiscent to those F-Body Buicks with 455's in them. 300 HP and some 500 lbs/ft torque.

Mongo, I have another v12 drivetrain and a 928.
I could do ITBs and headers.
Dual sequential turbos ala 2jz
Or a rotrex supercharger mounted on factory bosses driven by the factory 8 rib serpentine belt
All with megasquirt.
Do I put it in the 86 or the road race chassis.
So many choices! What to do!

I Should consult the Phantom.

Aside from the Zohan pun, I have seen very few ITBs done on 1GZFEs on the internet. My guess is due to the fabrication involved.

Just takes 3 sets of ITBs from a common Toyota 4 cyl.
About 250$ apiece on eBay. Then a simple adapter plate.

If your MS3 setup uses a MAP sensor, then it should be easy to set up and just retune.
