Default X pipe or X Pipe + RMB

Hello,

I have a 928 Koenig S4 and I want to add a nice rumble to the car without being obnoxiously loud or sounding like an "american v8".

What would you guys recommend to get a nice european v8 sound ?

X pipe or X pipe + rmb ?

Would you install X pipe alone ?

The RMB alone is very tasteful. I have an X-Pipe+RMB and its a tad loud. Some time in the future, I'll be on the market for suitable mufflers to quiet things down.

I would start out with the X, you can easily exchange the rear muffler for the RMB in 20 mins. when some extra bark needed

X-pipe and Hi-Flo cats on a stock 928, you will notice significantly more "roar". Wish I had decibel numbers but I was very surprised on how much meaner she sounded.

X-pipe before RMB if you were going to do one first. It's really the only exhaust upgrade that does true justice to the car.

Thanks I have made my choice, will get the X pipe and install it whilst the car is going through a major service.

On my 87 the x-pipe is about 10% louder than stock On my 88 the x-pipe is about 20% louder than stock. Cats deleted. No RMBs. Both are very modest sound level increases and sound great. This is just my ears listening. I haven't tried to measure it.

My assessment is pretty much the same as Mark's.

MY 88 is a ROW model (Japan) and the x-pipe I got from Roger was perfect.

I think the X-pipe will fit on any year 85 and above?

May also want to delete your air pump too. My X-pipe already had a airpump line to it so it's all hooked up. I kept mine.

...but after performing the TB/WP, I wish I just deleted it off the car. I may do that eventually one day.

Sure...his website shows very little that he offers. Like many vendors he has, or can obtain, any 928 part you may require including aftermarket items like the x-pipe.

Great time to replace the O2 sensor if you don't know how old yours is
