Default Differences between the different 3-speeds

What are the exact differences between the A22/01, A22/02, and A22/04?

If it's gear ratios, does anyone have the specifics?

On top of that, does anyone know the Mercedes transmission numbers that share the internal parts with the 3-speed 928 (if any)?

Ratios are all same. Differences between MY's are really small. Largest you might notice is converter stall speed change but its so small that all US and ROW versions are virtually same. Difference between them is within +/- 200 rpm tolerance allowed for individual boxes. There are some internal parts changes for later MY's which are listed mainly in '81 MY yearly changes document. MB number for these is 722.3. Lots of internal parts are same but finding out what exacly can be used from MB parts bin isn't so simple.

From my research the internals are all MB. I know all the clutches and steels are the same. As well as the vacuum modulator. But I have only had a couple apart (and never back together again, internals were destroyed). All my on- line research indicates that they used the same valve body as well.

From a manufacturing point of view it wouldn't make sense to change much of that out (planetary and sun gears only for different ratios, etc) as it becomes expensive , fast to do so. The case is a different story, of course
