I think that Cowl Cover is probably pretty rare. I have only seen one like it and that was when I was searching the picture thread for the different styles of covers and stickers for the development stage of my project, and that was not a very good picture. Nevertheless, I tried to emulate this cover with one of the five original forms that I developed. However, it seemed so rare and I missed the mark in my design quite a bit from the original so I only made 4 or 5 of them off the form. Then I converted that form into one of the versions that I make for the RHD cars.

Here are some pictures of what I had come up with; so you can see that I missed the mark with mine.

There is another Cowl Cover out there, probably in the S3 versions of the 928, that is very similar to this one, but part of the end where the washer bottle opening is is cut off of them, and they don't have the opening. I didn't try to replicate that one because I didn't want to make mine so short on one end.

I am tempted to buy this one just because I think it is so rare, but then I don't know what I would do with it. I already have a couple of extra cowl covers when I might need one.

Or you could say yours isn't a direct copy - its an improved design...

Don't beat yourself up Jerry - yours is far better than stock.

Only in a direct side by side comparison would anyone see much difference. Here I mean two side by side cowls (not 2 side by side cars). The material thickness, finish and apron seal are the main advantages. But I think your slightly differing rounded profiles and steppings look like they will also add some additional strength. Mine fitted perfectly - better than the stock version at the windshield apron.

However - this stock cowl is rare to be in pretty good shape - so easy to poorly install & damage these. Someone who wants stock will snap it up.

No longer for sale. I decided to put it on my '87. I will now sell the new one I bought earlier this year that I never installed. :-)
