Default Transmission mount?

Can anybody tell me if the trans mount from a Mercedes W114 W115 W123 W126 250C 280C 230 300D 300SE Transmission Mount can be modified to fit the 928? Just a question I have it looks similar but I have no idea if the size is close or not so anyone?

Those are similar. Maybe Mercedes designed the transmission mount too. At $20 for the Mercedes mount, Porsche's not even using K Y jelly on us.

Humm I wonder if a small bracket could be made to attach to the top of the MB mount then bolt to the trans would hafta be less expensive than the 200 a piece Porsche mounts

Does anybody know the dimensions of the two of them, how close in size are they? I am sure a pc could be made with a mounting hole in it and maybe welded to it. Its just that 200.00 a pop is over my head. Its either that or removing the rubber from a worn out one and bonding some poly or ? in there. As I know little about fabricating something like that I would need some help I think replacing the rubber might be the best way to go but again what do I know? best,Ray

I don't know that I'd want to go with any non-welded 2 piece design.

That tranny puts a lot of weight, twist and other stresses on those mounts. Considering they last 100k plus miles, worth extra to me. YMMV

well from the looks of it there is only 1 of these used on the transmission of the MB installation,
the Porsche has 2

I could see a simple bracket being made to attach to the top of the mount then to the transaxle,
the only thing missing would be the side to side wear bushes that the Porsche mounts use

Does anyone know how the mounts are bonded together? and how the rubber is formed? that might help.
