Timing Belt Guide Delete
This is for an early 86 928S 32V Auto.
Would I have any issues deleting the timing belt guide pulley located directly underneath the crank gear?
Mine doesn't look like the belt ever touched it. Porkentensioner being installed too. I couldn't get the whole unit off because it had rusted itself onto one of the pins but I managed to take off the pulley from the assembly. I had to take off the rear belt cover to get to the oil pump.

Thanks. I'll try one more time to get that assembly off otherwise it'll just be stuck there without a pulley. It's annoying to have on though. I ended up cracking the rear cover trying to get it around the assembly.

Can be an essential life saver..
The guide can be a life saver!
When you us a Porken tensioner you won't get an early warning for a slack running TB.
Which may be due to the oil pump gear starting to come loose on the pump shaft.
The guide will support the belt at this instance, keeps the belt in its place on the crank gear and gives you some more time to shut down the engine before
disaster happens.
Ask me how I know..
