Default Gear Clamp Use?

I replaced high pressure power steering hose about 4 years ago and now leaking again!
It's leaking where rubber hose connects to steel tube going into rack. Rather than changing that hose again would a putting a gear clamp "fix" the leak?
It will not be easy but better than removing hose assembly.
Thanks

I've never had any luck with gear clamps on high-pressure hydraulic hose connections. Hose is way too stiff, gear clamps don't apply enough pressure. Plus there's a collar right where you think you want to put the gear clamp.

What are my alternatives, other than replacing with new Porsche hose assembly

YOu should be able to have the line rebuilt at a local hydraulic shop.

I don't see why not... they're just crimps. Like said, just take it to a hydraulic shop and let them do the rest.

Princess Auto has a hydraulic scetion, they are common enough that there should be one near you. Make sure to keep the orientation of the two ends the same as before the rebuild so you don't have to fight it during re install. I've tried to patch up the high pressure line on my Jetta and a worm gear clamp was not strong enough.

Just returned from Hydraulic shop and they can't rebuild and will not guaranty work.
I don't think he wanted to take on the job.
Will get second opinion.
