Default 968 Steering Wheel

Does anybody know if a 968 steering wheel will fit a 928 S4 without to much messing?

Thanks

The spline shaft size should be the same size as long as it's for an airbag car. It will not fit on a non airbag car.

It is for a none airbag car my wheel has some damage to the stitching I am looking for an upgrade I thought maybe a later airbag wheel or a club sport wheel might be an easy option.

Not sure about the 968.... the non-airbag 944 steering wheels use a VW hub size, which is smaller than the 928.

Yes, all first-gen Porsche air bag wheels are interchangeable ... 911, 928, 968 ...

I just supplied a 968 Sport Steering Wheel (non airbag) to a customer and it looked identical to the 928 sport wheel, however the dia/splines were different.
944/968 has smaller diameter shaft to the 928

Thanks for that Roger I guess its going to be more complicated! I have some details on how to fit a 996 or Boxster airbag wheel but it involves changing the clock spring? Has anyone done this are the electrical connectors the same on the clock spring?

That will also only work on Airbag cars ^

Best is to get a 930 (911 turbo) wheel

Why don't you just restitch it. Or, even get a kit and recover it?

You can change the basket and splines by grinding the heads off the 4 rivets and using your old basket and spline from the old steering wheel. You can re rivet the new basket on or I just use bolts with lock washers and lock nuts
