OB with a 85/86 drive train
Looking at options. I have a 79 local that is in nice shape with a bad motor. It is cheap. I have a local 85 5spd with a nice drive train and a crappy car. It is also cheap. The 79 is also a 5spd.
How difficult is it to swap everything over. I have a friend that is a full time mechanic who just had a baby and will work at a reasonable price, and I will help.
I have looked at threads. Colin stated he bolted the motor right up and others have stated I need the k member or cross member, which ever it's called. Either way I will have all the parts.
If I went ahead with this I would do it to get some of mike's ITB's on it. Would the stock computer work or would I need a aftermarket computer.

i went aftermarket. much harder to route and splice in the correct factory harnesses. you would need to swap over the CE panel... i would go Mega squirt. way... easier and better.
