Hood stuck shut -HELP
Friends,
While on a misadventure with hood allignment, I'd just about got it perfect with the sprung rod going right into the reciever - I shut it and now it will not pop up when I pull the hood release - at all. Wish I'd left it alone.
How far under the front of the car do I need to stick my head so that I can get to release? And/or any tips for this. Can't wait till I move on to piddly fixes.
Josh

I got pretty fast at this on my old 1988 S4, waiting for new hood release cable when oldmone broke off at cabin release.
You need torch (what we Brits call a flashlight!) and long screwdriver.
Look up through louvres at front (you may need to move thinplastic blinds out if the way). You can see the latch mechanism. Just need to push the part attached to cable end to left and she will pop open.
Another you can try is to get someone to push down on hood while you operate release handle. That might work anyway. If you have striker and receiver lined up correctly, maybe you have length of striker wrong (adjusts with nut)

If the cable is still attached and intact, get a helper to pull gently on the release lever as you push down a snick on the hood. That should unload the spring and mushroom enough to let the latch slider move back and release the hood pin.
