Default differential heat shield

I've searched the forum but haven't found any mention of the heat shield shown in the PET attached to the driver's side of the differential. I've never seen one a photo either. Comments anyone? Ever seen one?

Thanks much,

John

Yes!! Holy cow, someone actually has one. Could it be on the Euro spec'd cars/high speed intent cars only? Although in my interpretation of the PET diagram it is installed on the side, not bottom of the differential.

Yep it is mounted on my Euro spec GTS. It protects the differential from exhaust heat on the Autobahn

I had one on my original transmission (USA car) that I transferred over to my new unit from Greg.

It should be in all '87-95 automatics.

Factory dual-exhaust cars have that shield, a shield between that right-side transverse pipe and the gas tank, plus the shield on the left side and the front of the battery box for heat from the same pipe.

It should be in all '87-95 automatics.
I'm not sure why they would not be included in 5-speed cars. ???

Default Thanks everyon

Thanks everyone. Now it's one more part to add when I re-seal the differential cover. Again. This time, Curil K2.
