Default Separating spindle from upper A-arm

From what I can tell, you cannot separate the steering arm from the front spindle, can you? The 2 bolts seem to not have any means of removing them. Are they allen head bolts filled with epoxy?

If you cannot separate the steering arm, it would seem that the only way to separate the spindle from the upper A-arm is with a pickle fork and trashing the ball joint boot.

I used a ball joint press on the lower ball joint.

Any advice?

Undo the nut by applying pressure to the whole ball joint and removing the nut.

I usually load up the control arms using a floor jack under the lower ball joint carrier, and a long pry bar through the upper A-arm to compress the ball joints and increase the friction enough to loosen the nut.

Once the nuts are off, then I use two large hammers to break the taper - hold one against one side of the taper, and hit the opposite side with the other. Before learning the hammer trick, I broke multiple ball joint separators and spent a lot of time drilling out the remains of a tie-rod end!

A search for youtube videos of "separate ball joint" will probably bring up some useful videos.
