Default Center console side cover installation

Quick question...is there a trick for getting the side panels installed for the center console? I am having a bear of a time getting them installed. There is a gap in the drivers side piece should slip onto a ledge next to the shelf however I cant seem to get this lined up. They were off of the car when I purchased it so I don't have any dis-assembly reference.

thanks

First, put drivers seat bottom completely down and back. Then line up slot to shelf first, then gently push and wiggle into place. Once almost completely in place, then worry about getting it tucked under edge of the center console. The last motion is more like a roation of the aft end up more so then a slide movement. At least that's what works for me.

I had re-fabricated my panels some time ago (see my thread), but I always remembered hating to have to deal with this. Get deep down in there and get the top piece (the one above the shelf connection) in its groove first in the console frame. This may require a little jimmying. When first putting the panel groove over the shelf connection you may have to angle it in first while bringing it forward. It is really just getting it in there.

I also find it easier to do when you've removed the parcel shelf on each side. 4 nuts on each and then you don't have to jimmy anything. The shelf and the side panel both share the metal hanger next to the console
