Default ABS off problems

I've been digging into why the ABS off light came on in my 89. The wiring to both front pad and ABS sensors, plus the left rear pad and ABS sensor wiring has lost all the outer sheathing, and the wiring is coming apart. The right rear looks new. All the speed sensors are fine. I cleaned all the grounds in the car, so tomorrow I'll call Tom ant 928 Int., and see if they have replacement looms for all 4 corners. Hopefully this will correct the problem.

I really love this car, but some times it's a PITA! If I didn't have a lift I'd be hating life right bout now too.

Joe, I did mine last year. Replaced both front harnesses. IIRC, rear is a single harness to both wheels and is $$$. Turned out not only was both of my front harnesses in bad shape but one of my wheel speed sensors was indeed bad that was thought to be good.

Thanks Alex,
All my wheel sensors checked out the same, and they're fine, just cleaned up every thing, and put them back in. The wiring is falling apart. New pads, so with replacement looms I should be good to go.

Joe,

Do you get the warning when you start the car or when you start driving it?
If it is when you start the car, I would look at the relays. Start with the one in the CE panel.

No Bertrand. After I start driving the car. All the dash lights go out after the car is started, and it goes thru it's system checks.

I talked to Tom this morning and ordered new looms for the sensors. The one's in the car are shot, and need to be replaced.
