Default Mystery switch....

Does anyone know what this switch is for? Initially I thought is an aftermarket switch fitted, but I removed the door cards on the weekend and the switch is exactly the same as is used for the electric mirror (but only have 2 wires connected to it). Also, lifting the handbrake cover a bit to see what is going on underneath I can see it is really well fitted and appears to have been done at the factory. The wires lead to the rear of the car but I have not yet had time to remove the trim to see where they run to…. Played around with the switch but appear to do nothing…..
Car is a 1991 Euro GT

I would like to find out as well.
Someone wrote here a while ago that it was a factory alarm interior sensor override switch; meaning you could have the windows open but still have doors, hatch, bonnet(hood) alarmed. I don't have the factory alarm anymore so no way of testing this.

Do you have the factory alarm?

I guess this is RHD UK delivered car. If I'm correct, this switch is related to the alarm but I don't know how precisely.

Ok - not related to the rear fog lights - when I switch the fog lights on it illuminates in both rear lights but flicking the switch does not turn one of them out....

Yes, UK RHD car - nothing in the owners manual either....

Yes I have; I spent a pleasant 15min messing with it a few a years ago and then gave up as it did nothing.

I found my notes - proper name is "vent" switch. A UK user (rawki ?)found the description in his manual a few years ago.
