Okay, I need directions! Help!
Okay, so I have this great looking 83 US car...black no strips, no spoilers. Okay it has one spoiler--I CAN'T GET IT TO RUN!!!! Having spent countless hours researching here, I've done the recommended procedures to cure this problem, or so it seems. Right now it will fire and run weakly for about 5 seconds. Checked/bypassed the alarm. new green wire from Mark. New ignition switch from Mark. Jumped the l-jet relay pins with a 3 way jumper. Fuel pump buzzes when trying to start the engine. replaced the FI brain with another one from my parts car (81). Had the injectors cleaned. New fuel after drain out. Cleaned AFM. switched afm from parts car. Cleaned grounds on right side of motor on the cam tower. Checked for spark at coil (yes). Checked/cleaned (wasn't dirty) 14 pin connector. Cleaned cable ends at jumping point. Cleaned grounds behind fuse/electrical panel on firewall. Getting ready to re check fuel flow out of fuel pump and to motor. Also tried starting while opening afm door, same result. Thanks in advance, and your patience for this long post. Ken PS if this is an Enzo, you can call me Kenzo!

I just want to assess exactly what you have done to bypass the FI relay.
If fuel is manually inserted through the flappy door opening, will the car run as long as fuel is being supplied?

Thanks. I'll be more specific--4th from the right top row. Jumped 87-87-30 If I recall correctly. number is 928 615 119 00. After I jumped it and tried to start it--making no difference--I re installed the relay. I'll go out and double check whether it runs with the fuel going in the top. Last time I tried it, it did. Thanks again. Ken

Okay then. It would appear that you have done a good job of bypassing the fuel injection relay. That should not be a factor in the present equation in that case. What you don't know (or I should say what we don't know from what you have posted) is whether the fuel pump is actually pumping fuel. And if it is pumping fuel, is it pumping the correct volume and pressure.
On the passenger side fuel rail, there is a nut at the forward end of the fuel rail that encapsulates a ball bearing that seals the passenger end of the fuel rail. With the ignition off, remove the nut and be very careful not to lose the ball bearing. Place a hose over the threads on the end of the passenger fuel rail that will fit tight enough that you can pump fuel through it into a container without dripping onto the engine.(You will probably want help with this if for no other reason to hold the fire extinguishers) You will need a pressure gauge for the second and third tests
Three tests: volume/flow, pressure, leak.
•Volume/flow test: minimum 850 cc in 30 seconds.
•Pressure test: 3.8 +/- 0.2 bar with engine off; 3.3 +/- 0.2 bar with engine at idle.
•Leak test: minimum 3.0 bar after 20 minutes
Good Luck

Thanks. I can do the flow for sure. I'll have to look through my stuff to see if I still have a pressure gauge. If not I'll make a trip to the parts store. Also, I ran the motor adding fuel and it did run until I stopped adding fuel. I'm going to check for flow here in a few. Thanks, Ken

Fuel flow test as suggested above.
Also, are injectors firing? Remove one injector wire and install noid light. Try to start. Does light flash?
Condition of positive terminal that connects to pos bat post? Specifically, the little wire? Clean and connected?

So that much fuel will just recirculate until used? Okay.......also thanks I'll double check the little wire on the positive terminal. If that's what it is please don't tell my wife. I'll have a donkey's head mask on anyway! Ken

After checking out some other threads I went back and re checked my testing--first thing I checked was my 3 wire jumper. Thankfully. One of the wire ends was not good. Changed it out and plugged it in in leiu of the fuel injection relay. Turned the key and she fired right up. Now I can start sorting out the little things and start to drive it. Oh, and I better order that damned relay eh? Thanks for the help guys. I really appreciated it. Ken Wiseman, Chehalis WA pitdad30
