Awesome Ed! I can't wait to take her for a spin!

Do you think you'll still wave or flash your lights to me as you and Ann pass by me?

Has the IMS been upgraded or fixed recently, or is this model not prone to this issue?
My local wrench had one in for a major service a few months ago, and suggested that for an extra $1k he could do the IMS bearing - No thanks said the owner. A few months later...it blew. Now its going to cost $10k to fix and get all the debris out of the oil system.

If you have not heard.. Porsche has settled a claim regarding certain
Boxsters and 911s regarding engine failures.

Check out this website to see if your car is included in the settlement.
http://www.imsporschesettlement.com/faqs/#qq5

Act now there are several deadlines.. and these deadlines are coming up
soon.

all 911, Boxster and Cayman engines thru 2008 are susceptible to this failure, except the 911 Turbo, GT2, and GT3.
the issue went away in 2009 when the engine (9A1) was redesigned without the intermediate shaft.

as for the class action, the only reimbursement is for an engine failure.
if you replaced the bearing as PM, you get nothing.

Congradulations Ed.
"S" cars are great Porsche.

+1 on the IMS upgrade.
Got a friend who's car had major engine problem because of this.
Porsche put another engine.
Major $$$!
