I am refreshing the intake on my 82 5 speed and have sent off the injectors to WitchHunter for refurb. The WSM says to cut off the pintle caps from the fuel rail with a tin snip, it this correct? It looks like you could easily score the rail or fuel nipple if not careful. Any suggestions to remove the caps still attached to the fuel rails as I cut the fuel hoses close to the rail nipple? For those who have used WitchHunter, do they include new caps top and bottom if you pay extra for new hoses? Is there any trick to installing the new injector on the fuel rail? I didn't have any problems with the fuel injectors before and they came out pretty easily, but the hoses were very brittle (32 years old) as is most of the vacuum lines, and I was concerned about a fuel leak. Some of the electrical connectors to the injectors are cracked, missing some pieces of the plastic or the retaining clips, can these pieces be replaced?
Thanks

Everything will be replaced. Send at least 1 complete unit (hose attached and correct length) they will 'rebuild' with new hoses, all one price. The plastic connectors can be replaced, ends are expensive. Another recent thread show a tape that can be used also.

WitchHunter should replace the pintle caps on the bottom of the injector if needed. They are a special type and longer than normal. I stock them if you get stuck.

Does it have the "Do It Yourself" manual transmission, or the superior "Fully Equipped by Porsche" Automatic Transmission?
