Driver door window glass adjustment

Hi Guys. New issue to fix this weekend.
When raising the window glass (closing the window) I have to push the top of the glass outwards to get it to go into the groove at the top.
The glass, when the window is about 5 cm from the top, seem to be about 10mm to far inside the car. Light finger pressure moves it out and it closes perfectly.
Any suggestions on how to go about adjusting this will be appreciated.

There are two felt guides that push on the inside of the window. They are located on the inside of the window opening, roughly 1/3rd and 2/3rds along. You can access them from the top of the window opening by winding the window down and removing the inner door panel.
The guides wear, but are mounted on metal plates with an oval hole, through which they are bolted by an Allen head bolt. You can adjust then laterally. However, the felt does harden, so new ones may be preferable. I understand from James M. that if they get wet they harden and can scratch window tinting. It is a fiddly job to replace them, but not hard.

Its no as hard as ot may seem, I did this job a not to long ago since my Window roller was bad, the PO had made one out of a bolt and therefore it wasn't efficient, I order the roller and the bolt thru autoatlanta. You don't have to remove anything just the side panels which is tricky from all the things u have to pop out. But other than that it should come right off if its not welded or bolted. Since mine was a tad bit short where the arm met and the bolt I had to take my window motor out and kinda bend the arm to be close enough to go in the hole. I haven't had an issue since

Check the nylon guides (hold the glass on the vertical guide tube) for wear or misalignment WYAIT. There is an adjustment procedure in the WSM.

I have been wondering about window guides that are loose over time. I took apart my door and I see plastic guides....I put it back together and have the new parts but wondering how to replace plastic guides on that main vertical bar.

take out the door panel,
then tape the window in up position,
then remove the central tube ,
and then the plastic guides,
replace the guides and bolt them loosely into the position,
then test the window for proper fit.
REF WSM for details if this doesnt work

Also check the rubber at the bottom of the vertical tube. The WSM spells out the alignment process quite well, and it worked for me. Note that there is a temorary fix for worn guides - run a cable tie around the tube and the guide and see if you can remove the play without straining the lift motor and gears.
Note also that years ago I bought new nylon guides in Oz (while I was living with car elsewhere), thinking that 2 different p/nos (927. and 928. for left and right sides)...got one in fine; went to install the other to find that while it was numbered as a LHS, it was actually a RHS part - WTF?? P/no is moulded in the nylon too, so there might be a whole batch of them out there.
They are handed because of the slope of the tube. Hence I cable tied the second worn one.

Once off, it reveals an opening in the door that is large enough to service the guides by simply rolling window down approximately half way till you see guides on the bar. Check to make sure the nuts are tight (my guess on OPs they are loose) or maybe the are broken (call Roger) or I recall one person used zip ties to snug them up on the cheap. IIRC, there are two guides... one for fore/aft motion and the over for in/out movement. It should be pretty obvious one you get it open.
Pop the cover back on, may have to replace a few broken clips (again Roger and other stock), and drive off with a smile.

I found this website to have all the info needed to adjust the window:
http://www.kondratyev.com/porsche/te...ndow_frame.htm
I just replaced this stuff a couple weeks ago. I was "all in" to include factory outter/bottom rubber window scraper.
FWIW, I gave up on the replacement felt guides and just removed the old guides and replaced the felt. The new felt guides were just too big (as seen in the picture compared to the old ones.) Even adjusted all the way back, they were putting too much stress on the window which led to my plastic roller giving up the ghost. BTW - Thanks Rog for quick roller replacment!
FWIW #2, I agree with Stan - taping the window up if you're going to remove the roller and stuff is the way to go. A piece of wood in the door bracing the window just got in the way too often.

I took apart left door panel and right door panel. The left or drivers door has more metal plating in there so access to the vertical metal guide etc is more difficult compared to right side. I assume they did this for security reasons?
Before I replace my plastic guides, I am trying to figure out how to get metal vertical bar loosened or open at top to slide in new guides. My boge fix would be to cable tie slack in guides....

look at the tube pics above - fittings at the top for two bolts onto the door body. The bottom is located over a pin with a rubber ring on it - visible in pic 3 above. The bolts should be visible when the top door cover is removed.
