Change in plans, going to WCU on Sat, so I WILL be at C & O on Sunday AM. Hope to see some other 928ers there.
Worth the trip just to see some very interesting and diverse cars & bikes. People watching is a real bonus.

I guess I was the only 928 at C&O this morning. Saw a bunch of Porsches, no other 928's.
Great turnout, some interesting cars of all kinds. Volvo 544 wagon, electric VW conversion, military vehicles, several Beck Porsches.

Dave, saw your car there....looked good! What was the little piece of tape on the front for? Notice a AOPA sticker..are you a pilot?

richvm 11-04-2013 11:34 AM

Jup, we saw you driving in but later no luck on finding you for a chatt or so:mad:
Maybe next time:bowdown:

outbackgeorgia 11-04-2013 11:34 PM

The tape is to cover a split in the bumper cover caused by an a$$ who backed into me with a White Ford pickup and tri-ball hitch while at lunch at Cue in Alpharetta. When I came out he was gone.
ASEL private pilot but lost medical.
Did not see any 928s, had to park with Corvettes. It was really a big turnout. We should just get 928s together for breakfast.
Any suggestions?

I did see a Corvette with an LT5 DOHC V8, which looks like a 928 clone engine. Supposedly designed by Lotus for GM, looks a LOT like the 928 engine. I suppose GM bean counters killed this one too.

It might have been good for a 928 to have an intake like an LT5...

In The Hampton Area. I have a 1989 928 S4 that needs some work. Any recommendations on the Southside of town. Currently it runs well, nothing significant, like a starting place for diagnostics.

Hi gbsalanta,
Well, unfortunately, Greg Nettles was one of the best, but passed last year. We all miss him, not sure if his shop is still open, or who to recommend near your location. I'm sure someone will chime in.

I would love to see a good cutaway drawing of the LT5. Did not find anything on line during my original search, but there are probably some out there.
Any idea what it weighs?

Never could find the previous Facebook page that I thought someone setup for the Atlanta 928 folks, so I put one up. https://www.facebook.com/groups/1406585162913476/
If there is another one out there let me know and I will dump this one.

Can we get together on Sunday, January 5. 2014 for the first Caffeine and Octane Car show at 12600 Deerfield Parkway (Deerfield Commons), Alpharetta, GA 30004 (North Fulton County), GA ??
I will be there from 7:30 AM and try to reserve some space for our 928's near the 911s. Who can participate?

Hi there,
I am in the Dacula area and my car arrives in mid Jan. In process of purchasing my 1990 S4 and it seems I have my 993 Cab sold. Being picked up with a transporter here this afternoon.

Look forward to meeting the other Atlanta Sharks in the near future.
