Default Rewiring Parking Lights

So, I have had my car for years now. I have done tons of work to it, but I still haven't gotten around to fixing one of the most annoying little things wrong with it.

The PO took some wiring short cut at some point to make all the lights come on.
He wired the left rear parking light from the wires on the right side.
That doesn't bother too much, but the damn warning light has been driving me crazy for years,

So, I know I just need to , but I was hoping somebody might just tell me. Where do the wires for the parkiing lights begin, and how do they run. Also, I'm guessing for the light to go off, I will need to get the proper gauge wires. If anybody knows what those are, I would love the help.
Thanks in advance,

Default parking lights

87s4 aut.

i hope i am not misinterpreting this but from what i read the po wired the right side parking lights to the left side.

i can imagine that the reason for this is that the left side was not coming on? and the right side was?

i have that same intermittent issue, left side parking lights do not come on occasionally.

i do know that the wiring is in the hatch, under carpet, you will find white connectors 2 wire.

perhaps he just wired these wires from both sides together?

either way, i think my intermittent issue on the left side parking lights is that the bulb holder is a copper strip. i think it is not making good consistent contact with tip bottom of the bulb.

i noticed sometimes when cold, no contact, but when you drive car and get hot, lights work....

the bulb holder is not the greatest, and i think that is my issue. again my best guess.

That is very helpful. I will check in the hatch tonight. Thanks, newworld.
