Default 1986 S2 ABS warning light

Guys, as part of compliance checking my car for life here in NZ i need to get the ABS warning light working again. Now this is not as simple as it may sound, for those who can recall I replaced the dash with a thing of my own creation - some time ago - and in the process did away with a lot of the warning lights and associated wiring.

In an ideal world id prefer not to have to remove the dash and delve back into the original dash wiring loom so i was wondering if anyone had advice about where or how i can get a signal/circuit that will light up an ABS warning on startup that will then cancel automatically? Thanks in advance.

I assume you mean a circuit that will simulate that requirement ? That should be easy to do.... 555 timer...

Wire the ABS light in parallel with the low oil pressure light?

Excellent ideas guys, i was wondering if there was an easy way to dip into the loom and find whatever normally triggered the light - seeing as i am going to be adding something back i thoutht to make it actually useful! John, i think your approach will probably be the most sensible - im not sure i even have the low oil pressure warning light anymore...

The Porsche shop in Koblenz is quite a special place, they have some immaculate high end racing cars in there. So one day after breaking down at the ring, the RAC has me recovered to the closest Porsche specialist... The inside of the passenger footwell is covered in oil, every warning light is illuminated due to a unique improvement to dash wiring of my own invention, the rest of the car is the usual blend of 200k mile daily driver/compromised wannabe race car - and if that isnt enough it has side skirts from a vauxhaul and an e-tech spoiler from the fast and furious! Hans was not impressed. After getting it to start they literally pushed the keys into my hands and shooed me out the door shaking there heads and simply saying 'nein nein!' as i tried to ask what was wrong and why it wouldnt start

Default ABS light on when backing out

I'm puzzled because if I backup from my garage and then drive about 50 feet my ABC light turns on, however if I park my car on a hill and drive forward ABS light stays off and ABS works and as soon as I make a u-turn it lights up. I know it's not the relay because if I start the car and not move the light stays off, either an electrical connection or an ABS speed sensor. But why it's fine on a hill going forward?

Check your connections in the front wheel wells. Sounds to me like you are losing contact when you turn the wheel. Sensors and grounds up at each wheel.
