Default Faulty Injector

Was having problems with my 1980 928 not starting this year so I installed a fuel pressure gauge on the rail to see where the pressure was. I had a tough time getting the car running and when it did it ran for about 10 mins then quit, I looked at pressure gauge and saw that the pressure dropped to zero immediately after shutting off the key. I preceded to install a fuel filter and check valve but that did not help at all.

I then started to remove the injectors and when I got to the #5 injector this is what I found. It may be tough to see but there is a lot of metal missing at the tip of the injector, this being the reason for the drop of pressure to zero.

Any ideas why this would happen?

Now I'm looking for injectors and have found these http://www.fiveomotorsport.com/product-search/?v=28369 but am wondering if anyone knows of any less expensive injectors? The injectors in the car are part #0280150154. I've heard about using Ford injectors but I'm looking for plug and play injectors.

What broke is the pintle cap. It is there to protect the pintle itself which may have been damaged. The injectors you have found are the lowest priced ones I have seen and would get them as there is no good after market replacement that does not require modification to the intake spider. If your car ran rough for all of those ten minutes then the injector is the culprit. I would recommend having your injectors cleaned and matched by a reputable shop to get rid of any other fuel injector related rough running problems.
