Default How to remove the clock and rear AC controls?

My 89 GT has a GTS clock, but the PO did a real hack job of wiring it in so it is constantly losing power and won't keep good time. I can't figure out how to remove it. It looks like the entire center console needs to be removed. Is there an easier way to remove the clock? If not how do I remove the console?

You can get to the wires from the side. Take out the carpeted side panel on the passenger side and you should be able to access the wiring.
If you still want to take the clock out, you need to start by pulling the center vent out, then there is a H plastic trim piece that you GENTLY pry out and it exposes the screws holding the AC controller, radio etc.

Thanks. Is there a procedure with pics posted somewhere?

I need to get the clock out so I can figure out a better solution to the electrical tape holding the power/ground wires to the connections on the back of the clock. There is zero room in there. I'll be able to see better with the side panels off, but I doubt I'll be able to get in there to work.
